Christine Tosa

Christine Tosa, born in 1950, was originally inspired to create pottery by her mother-in-law, the late Persingula Tosa. Under the mentorship of Persingula, Christine has been actively making hand-coiled pottery since 1970. She is a multi-talented potter, having made a variety of bowls, pots, vases, and other vessels, using a variety of motifs, including serpents, feathers, kivas, birds, and more. She creates her work in the Jemez style and incorporates designs traditional to the Pueblo. Among her favorite pieces to make are wedding vases, as they pose a unique challenge that she is eager to take on.
